Establish DataGroup System Catalogs - Tutorial
Generally, three processes are completed to setup and employ user defined and created custom catalog types. First, a series of directory folders are established for XSD definition files and XML catalog files, and to locate new parametric items. Second, XSD definition files and XML item catalog files are created for the new items. Third, the new items are connected with the placement tools.
Relevant DataGroup Directories and Configuration Variables
Two project directory folders, DATAGROUPCATALOGS and DATAGROUPSYSTEM, are required to establish user defined custom catalog types in the DataGroup System. These folders are delivered with the OpenBuildings Station Designer and can be used to employ user defined catalog types. The directory location for these folders is specified by the Dataset Root configuration variable.
